Secret Cinema: Who you gonna call? Plunge, Of course!

Last week, our Citroën DS Ambulance, Jacques, had the ultimate glow-up—transformed into a full-blown Ghostbusters car for a special Secret Cinema screening of Ghostbusters in London. And wow, what a ride it was!
It all kicked off when Future Shorts, the brains behind Secret Cinema, got in touch. If you’re not familiar, they create immersive film experiences where the movie remains a mystery until the very last moment. Fans sign up for tickets, get sent a rough location, and only discover the film when they arrive. Intriguing? Absolutely.
This time, the secret film was Ghostbusters, screening in both Brighton and London. The vision? Two classic Ghostbusters cars rolling in, lights flashing, sirens wailing. The snag? The legendary Cadillac ECTO-1s were out of the country. So, through a weird and wonderful chain of connections, the call came to us: Plunge, we need a Ghostbusters car—fast!
No problem. Jacques, our beloved 1971 Citroën DS Ambulance, was ready for duty. The plan was also to kit out an old white Volvo estate, but at the last minute, that fell through. Cue a frantic ring around Brighton in search of a white car that could step up. Our last-minute hero? A Ford Mondeo saloon. Not quite the Ghostbusters aesthetic, but hey—it was white!
A few hours later, after some carefully applied custom vinyls and rooftop ghost-hunting gear, even the Mondeo was looking eerily ECTO-like. (Well… close enough!)
Come Friday night, London and Brighton were buzzing as a team of Ghostbusters jumped out of their cars, ready to battle Slimer and a very possessed Dana.
A Citroën DS Ambulance saving the day? Now that’s a crossover we never saw coming!
