Powering Up the Ultimate Super Mario Exhibition Space at Hyper Japan

When This is BD hit us up with a challenge—to create a Super Mario exhibition space to celebrate 30 years of gaming magic at Nintendo’s stand for Hyper Japan at The O2—we didn’t just press ‘Start’. We grabbed a Fire Flower, powered up, and went all in!

Bigger. Bolder. More Mario!

A standard exhibition stand? Nah, that’s not how we roll. We wanted fans to feel like they’d jumped straight into the Mushroom Kingdom—so we went BIG, bright, and unmistakably Mario.

Here’s what we brought to life:

Three towering drainpipes – because every great adventure starts underground!
A giant fibreglass Piranha Plant – looking menacingly brilliant (but no bite, we promise!).
Two glowing Mario & Luigi lightboxes – spotlighting gaming’s most iconic duo.
Loads of playful Mario-themed furniture – including the cutest little cube seats you ever did see.

Every single piece was custom-made, built to spec, and designed to fit seamlessly into the exhibition space—because when we do something, we do it properly.

From cosplayers to collectors, gamers to first-timers, this Super Mario exhibition space was an instant fan-favourite. People snapped photos, soaked up the nostalgia, and got lost in the world of Mario, all while celebrating three decades of Nintendo greatness.
