From Chicory to the Cosmos: Designing Show-Stopping Costumes for The Masked Singer Belgium

When tasked with creating jaw-dropping costumes for Masked Singer Belgium, we knew the designs had to be as unique and vibrant as the show itself. From cosmic glamour to golden eggs, each costume told its own story, celebrating Belgium’s identity and pushing the boundaries of costume design.

Our lineup featured five standout creations: Acorn, a whimsical ode to nature; Mr Withlove, a chicory-inspired tribute to Belgium’s national vegetable; Space Babe & Scooter, a futuristic interstellar duo; and Tik & Tok, Miami Vice-inspired characters complete with a mechanism to lay golden eggs on cue.

Each design showcased meticulous attention to detail, with bespoke fabrics, hand-finished textures, and LED integrations that made these costumes as functional as they were fabulous. From the natural textures of Acorn’s costume to Mr Withlove’s leafy chicory elegance, every piece was crafted to dazzle audiences while reflecting the performers’ identities and Belgium’s rich culture.

Crafting the Extraordinary: Behind the Scenes of The Masked Singer Belgium’s Iconic Costumes

With mood boards, sketches, and a passion for innovation, our creative director led the charge, collaborating closely with the Masked Singer Belgium team to refine every concept. Each costume was designed to strike the perfect balance between bold visual storytelling and practical functionality for live performances.

Our talented designers, tailors, and fabricators tackled each challenge with ingenuity. Acorn’s woodland-inspired textures required intricate layering and hand-painting to achieve its organic feel, while Mr Withlove’s chicory costume used a combination of structural design and detailed fabric work to emulate the vegetable’s iconic leaves.

The real showstopper? Tik & Tok’s egg-laying feature. Our engineers devised a seamless mechanism to allow the performers to "lay" golden eggs at the push of a button, a quirky and unforgettable addition to the Miami Vice aesthetic.
