Is it a man? Is it a pig? Err… yes

The next pig thing
You may not know the man behind the mask, but you know the people he’s worked with – Craig David, Jason Derulo, KSI, Dua Lipa, Little Mix, Danny Ocean, Louis Tomlinson, will.i.am… And as his star status rose, this porky personality needed a mask to fit. So, move over Deadmau5, there’s a new pig in town.
Snout, snout, let it all out
Comfortable. Light. Loaded with tech. Digital Farm Animals wanted a fully enclosed, futuristic pig mask that lit up, reacted and animated in time to the music. Out there? Absolutely. But that’s the kind of brief we live for.
True to form, in an interview with The Night Bazaar, the DJ said about his new mask:
Pigs in space
First thing, practicalities. We had to make the new mask as light and easy to wear as possible. It had to be tough enough to withstand hours of nightclub pig-jiggery, but comfy enough for a living, breathing human to live and breathe in.
We plugged away at getting the weight down and robustness up. Making it fit for purpose, without losing any of that porky goodness. And what better material than carbon fibre – the stuff that NASA uses?!
Then, we went all Ibiza with the technology, with a full-on, in-your-face (and on his), head-sized lightshow. Sound-to-light animation. Onboard MiniMad graphic controls. Voice modulator. Optional wireless functionality. Audio-reactive, synched up with the music – pig and beats in perfect harmony. And the result is hypnotic.
See you at Amnesia.
